I started a new job in June and have grown to really like it, the people are great and I am understanding the work a lot better so it makes it easier. Trav is still on the hunt, August has been really slow and dead for people getting back to him, but we are hoping that the first few weeks of September with be successful.<br /><br />I have been missing family and friends so much lately :(, I am pretty homesick. It is hard to not have a trip to Utah planned to look forward to. Hopefully when Trav gets a job we will get tickets home even if it is just for a long weekend!<br /></div></div>Trav and Mel......http://www.blogger.com/profile/11340565057695760080noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4960344069110027347.post-56873285273673461402009-07-31T06:49:00.004-04:002009-07-31T18:14:57.489-04:00Please PRAY for MAGGIE!!!!!Well just when we thought things were looking ok for Maggie she is taken back up to the hospital. It was a super last minute trip because we weren't sure if they would still be in town over the weekend. So Thursday night we booked our bus tickets and found a place to stay for a few nights, and after work on Friday we took off :).<br /><br />Normally we would buy BOLT bus tickets but since it was so last minute they were all sold out and we had to go with the Chinatown bus <span style="color: rgb(0, 153, 0);">LUCKY STAR</span>......not so lucky. It was kind of a bummer because all week in NY it had been overcast and rainy and that Friday the sun was finally out and we were stuck on a bus, not just a bus, but a bus with NO A/C. It was sweltering in there and we couldn't even crack a window finally Trav asked the bus driver if he could pop open the emergency things on the top of the bus and boy did that make all the difference. Not only that but THREE times the bus stalled on the FREEWAY, we had to pull over and then cross our fingers that the bus would start again. It was just one of those things that you have to laugh because you can't do anything about it.<br /><br />We finally made it to Boston and found the apartment we rented just fine. In fact when we showed up the owner upgraded us from the plain bed and bath to the actual apartment with a living room and kitchen too. It was so nice :).<br /><br />Saturday morning we headed over to the Children's Hospital in Boston to see little Mags.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj79KiC27BHHDi7g8bx4sT1VKJGa3u6YTYbDiKWPtRAgBL5CLCtfTZNyfjGy5q06-QTmuMjLAfx5XqZ2NAo3dW8-ZGckESqlGfkUc3oR4FLS0cxi9eb7txT9NzSNO6iNQ9LeWAqMU3Gkc/s1600-h/IMG_0005.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj79KiC27BHHDi7g8bx4sT1VKJGa3u6YTYbDiKWPtRAgBL5CLCtfTZNyfjGy5q06-QTmuMjLAfx5XqZ2NAo3dW8-ZGckESqlGfkUc3oR4FLS0cxi9eb7txT9NzSNO6iNQ9LeWAqMU3Gkc/s320/IMG_0005.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352499710836600066" border="0" /></a>She is so freaking adorable, she was having kind of a rough day and wasn't super happy but she was hooked to so many wires and things who would be. We pretty much spent a lot of time at the hospital holding Maggie, getting updates and visiting with Michelle and Sean, it was fun to be there with all of them.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdSf1d4Ov6JEsKQpEU3QEkYlhg4uedYt0K64xPiuwbDnCxgBcFQls6KoSWJYphEB63dS7ddtcneLht9nFu6R0UCfbXwvi3UHQY7tr9bOlU6_LlGcUN60gb7KvbovVW_2kULQSf961i_PE/s1600-h/IMG_0009.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdSf1d4Ov6JEsKQpEU3QEkYlhg4uedYt0K64xPiuwbDnCxgBcFQls6KoSWJYphEB63dS7ddtcneLht9nFu6R0UCfbXwvi3UHQY7tr9bOlU6_LlGcUN60gb7KvbovVW_2kULQSf961i_PE/s320/IMG_0009.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352499718863175362" border="0" /></a>We took Mags for a walk in the courtyard of the hospital she was so tired...... zzzzzzzz<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBhQ3Vf12yCSlVdp2lEXvTr6yon3sl8Fuzd9gXOAf2FVkQChfw8EDBM91WEtlNh7USdyCDUAzRgVm81sxrzgq1plxWYd-Ei0FUTUqzoXYbpllclYts_x8YsgdGw7f6D5V5pQWcWyyqV4s/s1600-h/IMG_0014.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBhQ3Vf12yCSlVdp2lEXvTr6yon3sl8Fuzd9gXOAf2FVkQChfw8EDBM91WEtlNh7USdyCDUAzRgVm81sxrzgq1plxWYd-Ei0FUTUqzoXYbpllclYts_x8YsgdGw7f6D5V5pQWcWyyqV4s/s320/IMG_0014.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352499725149463426" border="0" /></a>We did however get to go out for a few hours with Michelle and Sean to get them out of the hospital for a little bit. Sorry but I haven't had a camera, plus while Katie and Jeff were living in NY Katie updated her blog and we pretty much did everything together so everyone could just refer to her blog :). But now that Katie and Jeff have left NYC for DC :( (we are sad and miss them!), it is time I take responsibility for this blog I started.<br /><br />Trav and I have been back in NYC for about two weeks after our FUN visit to Utah. For those of you who don't know we have decided to try and stay in the city for a while. Travis is done with his classes, he is writing his thesis this summer and graduates in October. But we decided that we would stay here in NY and look for jobs! Needless to say that is what we have been doing for the past two weeks straight. I found a temp job that I have been doing for about 4 days it is going good so far nothing glamourous but it keeps me busy. Trav is still on the hunt making some good contacts everyday just hoping something will come through, keep your fingers crossed.<br /><br />Other than that we have literally beenĀ <span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);">LOVING</span> NY in the SUMMER it truly is awesome! There are some many fun FREE things to do and FREE are always really good......<br /><br />As I mentioned we don't have a camera so I haven't been able to document the last few weeks through pictures :( but a camera is on it's way so I will be taking lots of pics!!!!<br /><br />Last week Trav and I spent the majority of our days looking for jobs which honestly is exhausting. We were able to get out a few times to enjoy some of what NY has to offer. We were able to hang out with our friends Scott and MaryLynn and their sweet new baby Zoe, she is adorable. We've been on fun walks in Central Park with them.<br /><br />On Friday night we met Brianne and Jeremiah at the <span style="color: rgb(0, 102, 0);">American Folk Museum</span>, they were having some live music and drinks and it was FREE. The museum had a cool Kaleidoscope exhibit going on and they had some really neat quilts like the one below that mimicked what you see in a kaleidoscope, they were very impressive. After the museum we went to the BURGER JOINT for burgers and shakes, yummy! They really do have one of the best burgers in the city.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZv_ptfym7l7UtW3lmAf1KMmq5Kr-w2LuGfIYVrMIVPQmUcRNSZo8g8MuhmzYLUIqJC8l6qp_v0hjnobq6c5g-jqwyuvXsMWtuHCuAei_3v32aQlTFwOH10bcRTF5xJBW1_lApHamyb30/s1600-h/Americanfolk.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 283px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZv_ptfym7l7UtW3lmAf1KMmq5Kr-w2LuGfIYVrMIVPQmUcRNSZo8g8MuhmzYLUIqJC8l6qp_v0hjnobq6c5g-jqwyuvXsMWtuHCuAei_3v32aQlTFwOH10bcRTF5xJBW1_lApHamyb30/s320/Americanfolk.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346942904911234514" border="0" /></a>Saturday night Trav and I were able to hang out with Shawn and Annie we met them near their apartment and walked through the park to the <span style="color: rgb(102, 204, 204);">Metropolitan Museum of Art</span>. We have been there several times, but this was the first time we were able to go to the rooftop garden. There was a neat tree sculpture that covered essentially the whole patio. The views from up there were amazing.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFsoCnZOA5jSi6vGMGIzh66cdI_miLxclKpYn58l1Y4eZsDaeiJ34CW1xKJqacVBjUSpqJ1FITcHZp2J-DviSZboMYFnYXf5ZXYf2-ytv1DpxEXeJoFc_Bh8EYFVE-0hX58yyMpgGowt4/s1600-h/themet.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFsoCnZOA5jSi6vGMGIzh66cdI_miLxclKpYn58l1Y4eZsDaeiJ34CW1xKJqacVBjUSpqJ1FITcHZp2J-DviSZboMYFnYXf5ZXYf2-ytv1DpxEXeJoFc_Bh8EYFVE-0hX58yyMpgGowt4/s320/themet.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346943253315514770" border="0" /></a>On our way back we stopped for dessert at a little cafe that is known for its popovers. I had never heard of them, it is a pastry that you top with ice cream and chocolate and it was awesome, I would definitely go back....thanks for the suggestion Annie.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzTLXHQG2Tjb_xl6oKYra3yzTMD8w0egYc1beEmnXLrL9EGKUk4zmAxiYQ6T9hAkF3x0DAXk-OnH54csWb9ZjSExjxRz-vpqQfOGHpiCB1Eg1xYvfYpZIoew0RfAD4RGzOXoVW_oldheo/s1600-h/popovers.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzTLXHQG2Tjb_xl6oKYra3yzTMD8w0egYc1beEmnXLrL9EGKUk4zmAxiYQ6T9hAkF3x0DAXk-OnH54csWb9ZjSExjxRz-vpqQfOGHpiCB1Eg1xYvfYpZIoew0RfAD4RGzOXoVW_oldheo/s320/popovers.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346943245122510226" border="0" /></a>Sunday afternoon we headed down to the park and literally spent the entire afternoon just lounging around and reading, it was a beautiful day. A little later that night we went to Central Park, the <span style="color: rgb(102, 0, 0);">Classical Theater</span> had a free play that was going on. It was really neat how they set it up, the performers started in one area and as the scenes changed the actors moved throughout the park and the audience followed. It was really fun.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD26YhdFVqm9winQdsKjONSPJpyIjij65lDwZu01hCwyrPO8znIvCTe5jdYGATZwlYAp8Jg9ooav1hPNlz_ZL7AGQgh9aOhpLn2-rumZkv9n0p_YdIyC1_OY_Tcw6dbF06he2kQXKQOAI/s1600-h/kinglear.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 190px; height: 285px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD26YhdFVqm9winQdsKjONSPJpyIjij65lDwZu01hCwyrPO8znIvCTe5jdYGATZwlYAp8Jg9ooav1hPNlz_ZL7AGQgh9aOhpLn2-rumZkv9n0p_YdIyC1_OY_Tcw6dbF06he2kQXKQOAI/s320/kinglear.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346942913566068066" border="0" /></a>This week we stayed pretty busy with me working and Trav having a few night meetings he had to go to so we didn't get out much. Monday night, the day before my work started we actually found a fun thing that was going on, it is called <span style="color: rgb(102, 0, 204);">Taste of Times Square</span>. A bunch of restaurants from around the city come and set up booths and prepare samples and tastes of their food. So when you arrive you buy tickets and purchase your food with tickets. There were so many people there and so much great food, we had crab cakes, Asian salads, gnocchi and two kinds of cheesecake. There were also a bunch of street performers and music. They only do this once a year so I am glad we didn't miss it!<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE_XfRA5OJRznfE67TfFfLQ4md6USjMBHeC3I4PFWIMZmiwGqoM_dEfNyTF2QzrYHZSZ151volNILmCWJBjQfZ_Y2QPY8Pk9nImVngPdw1FAtQ6noBCK5XeAGu4vOxUZIHvIL4tyiJH2M/s1600-h/tasteoftimes.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE_XfRA5OJRznfE67TfFfLQ4md6USjMBHeC3I4PFWIMZmiwGqoM_dEfNyTF2QzrYHZSZ151volNILmCWJBjQfZ_Y2QPY8Pk9nImVngPdw1FAtQ6noBCK5XeAGu4vOxUZIHvIL4tyiJH2M/s320/tasteoftimes.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346943252112291058" border="0" /></a>After being inside for most of the week when the weekend rolled around we were ready to get out of the apartment. We stopped by the <span style="color: rgb(255, 204, 51);">Fashion Institute of Technology</span> and went to their museum. They had dresses and gowns on display from the late 1700's to present. It was interesting to see how they styles changed. The dress below is has Swarovski crystals all over it, that dress must be super heavy.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCcT-WaBjYDybDpuhNlO4nou3c6lY2mjEzxSmB98t0pSSkv_vSgNYJeN_Y1VMGMhr-MbK0CKeHZ9AJ4PgLvhxYqcMfmYqFEDNhbnk_CCwAXgfaxP1h14gzs42W7U4yBNGD8I7x6yvbUN8/s1600-h/FIT.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCcT-WaBjYDybDpuhNlO4nou3c6lY2mjEzxSmB98t0pSSkv_vSgNYJeN_Y1VMGMhr-MbK0CKeHZ9AJ4PgLvhxYqcMfmYqFEDNhbnk_CCwAXgfaxP1h14gzs42W7U4yBNGD8I7x6yvbUN8/s320/FIT.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346942909922882434" border="0" /></a>After that we headed over to <span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 255);">Grand Central</span> where they have a small exhibit of the NY Transit projects they have going on. There are I think 7 major subway projects that NY is currently working on and the museum just gave details and status reports on each of them, it was crazy to see that some of these projects have been in the making for up to 80 years and they just now have the funding to get it done.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHCkhVXewx1sq9aaNbPADAJp37BtPv21ZLyTWacZWFzhnHg0jnHfFXXoq9d92uV3MfCqo-XxysZeR7bjk7tag_NdwjhxV_BPxdZWWHaS15mR9-S-8253wT0OvhGfCT5T_bxmy_qZdo-Zo/s1600-h/NYTransit.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 198px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHCkhVXewx1sq9aaNbPADAJp37BtPv21ZLyTWacZWFzhnHg0jnHfFXXoq9d92uV3MfCqo-XxysZeR7bjk7tag_NdwjhxV_BPxdZWWHaS15mR9-S-8253wT0OvhGfCT5T_bxmy_qZdo-Zo/s320/NYTransit.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346942921124255250" border="0" /></a>We wondered over to <span style="color: rgb(204, 0, 0);">Times Square</span> when were done there, they recently closed down Broadway to cars in the Times Square area and the city brought out a bunch oflounge chairs for public use so we just hung out down there for an hour or so and people watched, gotta love that.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWQkQIAmWi9de8YJYpgi1nEhksVB3Y1igeuOQvnCiTEmZu8S458KZuoPoPVbVJo4ZJ-v12OOX-8qxNcO1TNV7XRuv-8Qw6fymtHmaGeuFDHg8_8y0g4MhsYrS0Q1zwm_EyBTvO-HlXXNs/s1600-h/timessquare.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWQkQIAmWi9de8YJYpgi1nEhksVB3Y1igeuOQvnCiTEmZu8S458KZuoPoPVbVJo4ZJ-v12OOX-8qxNcO1TNV7XRuv-8Qw6fymtHmaGeuFDHg8_8y0g4MhsYrS0Q1zwm_EyBTvO-HlXXNs/s320/timessquare.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346943508301033346" border="0" /></a>This morning we woke up early, to get a good start on the day. There is a new park in the Meatpacking District called the <span style="color: rgb(0, 153, 0);">HIGHLINE</span> that opened this week. We decided we wanted to go check it out, it was really awesome. It used to be an old train line and the city came in and developed it into a beautiful modern park.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVYtlg_mX2B-0M_VnnIQ6EBCZ7E2pjuyudVhF9ILEG0Qni93du1HFPY8MQ7YKV1CrkyVGrVTKcEpMXBluJU0dZp00AP51_eRsp6OwXwOayIr3vbWA_jz08FuVpK2LGSfH0WfkJzDBR5WU/s1600-h/highline.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 166px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVYtlg_mX2B-0M_VnnIQ6EBCZ7E2pjuyudVhF9ILEG0Qni93du1HFPY8MQ7YKV1CrkyVGrVTKcEpMXBluJU0dZp00AP51_eRsp6OwXwOayIr3vbWA_jz08FuVpK2LGSfH0WfkJzDBR5WU/s320/highline.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346943259127148738" border="0" /></a>We then walked through the Flower District in Chelsea, where the street is surrounded by fresh flowers and shrubbery. We had a great time though. We spent a lot of time walking around and eating out which in my opinion are some of the best things to do in NY. Kelly and Sara were able to go to a concert, Thievery Corporation, which they loved and a comedy show as well. They also introduced us to some other friends they have that live here in the city. They are in a band called <a href="http://www.highbenchmusic.com/">HIGHBENCH</a> and they were in a studio rehearsing on Friday night so we were able to go watch them. It was our own mini concert and they were great. Not the best picture but it is all I had!!!<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6WhrnBMFkioCaJyrLseQX64cd_LURQcATBdUXUqbZfMk2TTh-2MKVcsBioZdVf5w6pJx1KP4I7bNbwuwbybLEd16UQMtKoNsgJPFQQa8DqcZ8pHWyvgkUDU5w1UhyphenhyphenT7JqWqPQNph2vWQ/s1600-h/PICT0124.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6WhrnBMFkioCaJyrLseQX64cd_LURQcATBdUXUqbZfMk2TTh-2MKVcsBioZdVf5w6pJx1KP4I7bNbwuwbybLEd16UQMtKoNsgJPFQQa8DqcZ8pHWyvgkUDU5w1UhyphenhyphenT7JqWqPQNph2vWQ/s320/PICT0124.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5308611943379524850" border="0" /></a><br />On Saturday night our ward had an 80's DANCE!!!! Brace yourselves....<br /><br />DECEMBER--<br /><br />December in NY is awesome you can really get in the Christmas spirit with all the decorations, shopping and cold weather. We were able to do a few fun things prior to leaving. We walked through Central Park on a snowy night it was really beautiful and we got some fun pictures. Trav and I also were able to spend a couple of nights in some really neat hotel/condos in midtown. An old client of Trav's gave us a few free nights and the places were amazing....I could totally live in one of them :)<br /><br />Trav and I were in SLC for a MONTH I know it was a long time, but it went by pretty fast surprisingly. We were able to spend some good time with family and friends. It was so fun to be around all of our cute nieces and nephews again they get so big when you don't see them for a while. We had family parties, new years parties, lunches with friends and a few cabin trips. Oh and Trav had a birthday he is 31!!!!<br /><br />JANUARY--<br /><br />We came back to NY and it was actually really good. It made me realize how fast our time here has gone and how much I still want to do. ---side note Susan Surandon was on our flight!!!!<br /><br />A couple of days after we got back was the Presidential Inauguration. One thing I really love about this city is that when something major is going on there are huge crowds of people all across the city watching or celebrating or whatever. So we went over to campus to see what was going on and of course a huge crowd was watching outside on the big screen. It was great.<br /><br />I had never been to the Natural History Museum so Trav and I decided to go. It was pretty cool, they have a lot of really neat exhibits and a lot of animals :), which I never could figure out if they were real stuffed animals or fake.<br /><br />FEBRUARY--<br /><br />The month of love times 2. So this is the month of Valentine's Day of course but Trav and I also have an anniversary on the 3rd so we had a lot of fun! It was my year to plan our anniversary so I surprised Trav with a little night on the town. I had a few destinations with a card or note at each place taking us to the next activity. So we first went to dinner at a yummy restaurant called Rosa Mexicana they have delicious guacamole....yum yum. Being on a student budget I had to be a little creative. So the next stop was Barnes and Noble we spent 30-40 minutes in the humor section reading jokes to each other. The funniest ones were the "your mama's so fat" ones, they were hilarious. Stop number three was the movie theater, since it was our anniversary I chose a sappy love story, we saw Last Chance Harvey. It was a cute show. And to top the evening off we went to Cafe Lalo and had chocolate fondue for two. We had so much fun spending the evening together just the two of us, I had fun surprising Trav and he loved being surprised. Happy 4th anniversary to us :).<br /><br />Well the weekend after our celebration was Valentine's Day. Katie, Marylynn and I decided it would be fun to do something fun for the boys the day before Vday so Katie made up a little poem that we left for them in Scott and Marylynn's decorated apartment. We had their favorite treats there along with hearts galore. They met us down at this really great italian restaurant. After dinner we had another note card giving the boys some options of things to do. Bowling was their first choice but the wait time to get a lane was ridiculous so we went to plan B which was you guessed it another movie. We LOVE movies apparently . We saw Push. It was ok not great just ok.<br /><br />On actual Vday Trav and I wanted to be pretty low key and stay in since we knew it would be crazy busy at restaurants. We went up near the Hudson River and watched the sunset. It was really pretty and then we came back home and made a very delicious dinner. It was a brown sugar and mustard salmon first time we made it and it turned out great.<br /><br />Talk show number number 3. Katie got tickets to go the the Rachael Ray show and who did she take???? ME. It was so much fun, the set was really colorful and bright and Salma Hayek was on the show so that was a big plus :). We get to go to Martha Stewart in a few weeks...<br /><br />Last week Katie and I decided to get out of the city so we took a two hour bus ride to Philadelphia. I had never been there before so I was excited to explore a new city. It was fun, a little different than what I expected, but it was good. We just hung out downtown and saw the historical sites and then went up to see the University of Pennsylvania which was beautiful.<br /><br />That pretty much sums up our last few months! Here are the pictures......<br /><br /><div><embed src="http://widget-27.slide.com/widgets/slideticker.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" quality="high" scale="noscale" salign="l" wmode="transparent" flashvars="cy=bb&il=1&channel=2954361355577718055&site=widget-27.slide.com" style="width:400px;height:320px" name="flashticker" align="middle"></embed><div style="width:400px;text-align:left;"><a href="http://www.slide.com/pivot?cy=bb&at=un&id=2954361355577718055&map=1" target="_blank"><img src="http://widget-27.slide.com/p1/2954361355577718055/bb_t000_v000_s0un_f00/images/xslide1.gif" border="0" ismap="ismap" /></a> <a href="http://www.slide.com/pivot?cy=bb&at=un&id=2954361355577718055&map=2" target="_blank"><img src="http://widget-27.slide.com/p2/2954361355577718055/bb_t000_v000_s0un_f00/images/xslide2.gif" border="0" ismap="ismap" /></a> <a href="http://www.slide.com/pivot?cy=bb&at=un&id=2954361355577718055&map=F" target="_blank"><img src="http://widget-27.slide.com/p4/2954361355577718055/bb_t000_v000_s0un_f00/images/xslide42.gif" border="0" ismap="ismap" /></a></div></div>Trav and Mel......http://www.blogger.com/profile/11340565057695760080noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4960344069110027347.post-52690420336228960692008-12-03T09:50:00.004-05:002008-12-06T11:02:33.013-05:00ThanksgivingWow I can't believe Thanksgiving has already come and gone. It was such a great experience this year! Katie and I made our Thanksgiving feast and Everything was delicious. We were able to put a make shift table and chairs together and a serving table too. It was Katie, Jeff, Trav, me and another friend of the boys from their program. It was weird to be away from family, it makes you appreciate them and all the work that goes into cooking so much more!<br /><br />It is amazing to me to reflect on this time of year and realize how truly blessed I am and how much I have to be thankful for. Sometimes it is easy to loose sight of those things when life is busy or stressful.<br /><br />We were able to go to some friend's place that live right were the parade passed, it was awesome. See below for some pictures of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and our FEAST!!!<br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);font-size:180%;" ><br /></span><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);font-family:courier new;font-size:180%;" >WEEKEND IN DC</span><br />After our great Thanksgiving we were able to go down to DC for a few days. It was great! We hopped on a bus on the way down, $25 and four hours later we were there. We had a great hotel right near the capital. Let me just say DC is sooooo clean. The subways there are really really nice. Of course I am comparing it NY where the subways are disgusting. There is also a lot to do there, lots and lots of museums and history. And the great thing about it was that pretty much everything is FREE and on a student budget that is AWESOME. So we were able to go on a tour of the Capitol, Air and Space Museum, Holocaust Museum, Arlington Cemetery, watched the changing of the guards, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument and reflecting pool, White house, Ford Theater, Vietnam Memorial, WWII Memorial, and I know I am probably missing a few things. All and all it was really fun.......except the ride home, we made the mistake of taking a CHINATOWN to CHINATOWN bus. It was not a very nice bus and it was stinky, not only that the driver was terrible and we were all nauseous from the ride, the ride that was 6 1/2 hours!!!!!<br /><br /><br />Thanksgiving!!!<br /><div><embed src="http://widget-cb.slide.com/widgets/slideticker.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" quality="high" scale="noscale" salign="l" wmode="transparent" flashvars="cy=bb&il=1&channel=2954361355574246347&site=widget-cb.slide.com" style="width: 400px; height: 320px;" name="flashticker" align="middle"></embed><div style="width: 400px; text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.slide.com/pivot?cy=bb&at=un&id=2954361355574246347&map=1" target="_blank"><img src="http://widget-cb.slide.com/p1/2954361355574246347/bb_t000_v000_s0un_f00/images/xslide1.gif" ismap="ismap" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://www.slide.com/pivot?cy=bb&at=un&id=2954361355574246347&map=2" target="_blank"><img src="http://widget-cb.slide.com/p2/2954361355574246347/bb_t000_v000_s0un_f00/images/xslide2.gif" ismap="ismap" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://www.slide.com/pivot?cy=bb&at=un&id=2954361355574246347&map=F" target="_blank"><img src="http://widget-cb.slide.com/p4/2954361355574246347/bb_t000_v000_s0un_f00/images/xslide42.gif" ismap="ismap" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />DC<br /><div><embed src="http://widget-1d.slide.com/widgets/slideticker.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" quality="high" scale="noscale" salign="l" wmode="transparent" flashvars="cy=bb&il=1&channel=2954361355574246941&site=widget-1d.slide.com" style="width: 400px; height: 320px;" name="flashticker" align="middle"></embed><div style="width: 400px; text-align: left;"><a href="http://www.slide.com/pivot?cy=bb&at=un&id=2954361355574246941&map=1" target="_blank"><img src="http://widget-1d.slide.com/p1/2954361355574246941/bb_t016_v000_s0un_f00/images/xslide1.gif" ismap="ismap" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://www.slide.com/pivot?cy=bb&at=un&id=2954361355574246941&map=2" target="_blank"><img src="http://widget-1d.slide.com/p2/2954361355574246941/bb_t016_v000_s0un_f00/images/xslide2.gif" ismap="ismap" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://www.slide.com/pivot?cy=bb&at=un&id=2954361355574246941&map=F" target="_blank"><img src="http://widget-1d.slide.com/p4/2954361355574246941/bb_t016_v000_s0un_f00/images/xslide42.gif" ismap="ismap" border="0" /></a></div></div><br /></div></div>Trav and Mel......http://www.blogger.com/profile/11340565057695760080noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4960344069110027347.post-64772307980269025052008-12-03T08:41:00.006-05:002008-12-06T10:31:23.296-05:00Rick and Brittany come to VISIT!!!I know, I know I have been terrible at blogging the last couple of weeks, but I am getting on it today! Just to update you New York has been awesome<span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">,</span> Christmas</span> time marks the half way point, which when we came out here was the only thing I was looking forward to. But now that we are half way I am kind of sad. The time has gone by so fast, it really has been so much fun. The city is getting decked out with Christmas trees, lights and decorations, it is so fun to see it all.<br /><br />Other than that Trav is still really enjoying school. He is super busy right now as he is in the middle of finals, so I probably won't see him much this week, but we will have a month in Salt Lake to hang out with family and friends, I am excited!<br /><br />Two weeks ago Rick and Brittany Mason came to NY to visit. We seriously had so much fun, it was great to have friends out here! We were able to do a lot of fun things and they were able to see Christmas in NY in the making so that was great too! Here are a few of the fun things we did.....<br /><br />Brittany and I were able to go to FAO Schwartz and play on the giant piano, that was a first for both of us!!!<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgyb2O5pTDCwRFcAx8i94xHQXUMN2ypv1-YSMy4lwKGsdc-LPHzXM0q1avLF-Pi35emJ2k89N0xzmftK-o4ll7l7KxXEhWGdqmC2CSuyKCzapFmFvv8Dv9v1zp-Wju2tTwSiEpmXfMFnE/s1600-h/PICT0032.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgyb2O5pTDCwRFcAx8i94xHQXUMN2ypv1-YSMy4lwKGsdc-LPHzXM0q1avLF-Pi35emJ2k89N0xzmftK-o4ll7l7KxXEhWGdqmC2CSuyKCzapFmFvv8Dv9v1zp-Wju2tTwSiEpmXfMFnE/s320/PICT0032.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5276696646903192466" border="0" /></a><br /><br />We went to Rockefeller, Saks and Macys to see all of the Christmas decor going up. We saw the New Years Eve ball in Macy's it is really cool!<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjutuSrdA0mbdwJSrc7W1JYJc9iHYEyQbx-9l6wKR-ZLoSPchKLtNY2KiaSu8DC-OfIqvI3Pc47M8rJGgdI7Rb32kawNtgIbIEj3jwc8frSBUnrlncyHNN3s9F7kSuDXjAP5cSyyhFqSro/s1600-h/PICT0137.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjutuSrdA0mbdwJSrc7W1JYJc9iHYEyQbx-9l6wKR-ZLoSPchKLtNY2KiaSu8DC-OfIqvI3Pc47M8rJGgdI7Rb32kawNtgIbIEj3jwc8frSBUnrlncyHNN3s9F7kSuDXjAP5cSyyhFqSro/s320/PICT0137.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5276696656555982498" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVafcB62n_6CF9wken6cx3BWNpXkmQcT_UIn9Ky4Dbr3wBqYRQdzUHsEKIa0OY2yrZkP54qRekvP73TT2d3FQpIoXy4KlZVKy4bKu83zEhPiB4b7deBviC9DJPHr1Vy829O0lr8OWrOqo/s1600-h/PICT0115.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVafcB62n_6CF9wken6cx3BWNpXkmQcT_UIn9Ky4Dbr3wBqYRQdzUHsEKIa0OY2yrZkP54qRekvP73TT2d3FQpIoXy4KlZVKy4bKu83zEhPiB4b7deBviC9DJPHr1Vy829O0lr8OWrOqo/s320/PICT0115.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5276696650675384754" border="0" /></a><br />One of my favorite things was when Brittany and I went to Canal street....we literally went into just about every little shop we passed, we were down there for hours, it was a lot of fun. It was the first time that I was able to spend some time down there looking, because there were no boys :).<br /><br />We also did Little Italy, Wall Street, Ground Zero, Times Square, St. Patricks Cathedral (we saw a wedding there), Central Park, Grant's Tomb and the Brooklyn Bridge....<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisnx0UneygKLUaHTAwhnaovb0_fL0aDR-r4SwTLpj5I7ltGdqhEEaHT7iIEN1h2vhuPCUsV_NPVbh_mKMrGMTolcr6KOcb-rmbUJRzVePitQw9X3FXDMNOCxQ4BOG008oNSFwIURohlXc/s1600-h/PICT0169.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisnx0UneygKLUaHTAwhnaovb0_fL0aDR-r4SwTLpj5I7ltGdqhEEaHT7iIEN1h2vhuPCUsV_NPVbh_mKMrGMTolcr6KOcb-rmbUJRzVePitQw9X3FXDMNOCxQ4BOG008oNSFwIURohlXc/s320/PICT0169.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5276696664020189666" border="0" /></a><br />Another really cool thing we were able to do is attend our Stake Conference, Elder Holland was in town so he spoke at the conference. It was such a good talk and testimony that he shared. It was neat to see him speak in a setting other than General Conference because you could see by the tone of his voice how passionate he is about the Gospel. Elder Holland talked a lot about the trials in life we will go through and that it may be easy to fall away from what you believe, but that it is so important to stay close to God so you can get through whatever it is that you are going through. Another thing he said was that "everything is going to be ok". As simple as that sounds it was so comforting to hear an apostle of God tell you that "everything is going to be ok". Sometimes I worry and stress about things that are beyond my control, well not just sometimes, ALWAYS. But I am working on knowing that if I do all that I can in whatever circumstance is that I don't need to put myself through the torment of not thinking I am doing enough.<br /><br /><div><embed src="http://widget-7a.slide.com/widgets/slideticker.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" quality="high" scale="noscale" salign="l" wmode="transparent" flashvars="cy=bb&il=1&channel=2954361355574246010&site=widget-7a.slide.com" style="width:400px;height:320px" name="flashticker" align="middle"></embed><div style="width:400px;text-align:left;"><a href="http://www.slide.com/pivot?cy=bb&at=un&id=2954361355574246010&map=1" target="_blank"><img src="http://widget-7a.slide.com/p1/2954361355574246010/bb_t017_v000_s0un_f00/images/xslide1.gif" border="0" ismap="ismap" /></a> <a href="http://www.slide.com/pivot?cy=bb&at=un&id=2954361355574246010&map=2" target="_blank"><img src="http://widget-7a.slide.com/p2/2954361355574246010/bb_t017_v000_s0un_f00/images/xslide2.gif" border="0" ismap="ismap" /></a> <a href="http://www.slide.com/pivot?cy=bb&at=un&id=2954361355574246010&map=F" target="_blank"><img src="http://widget-7a.slide.com/p4/2954361355574246010/bb_t017_v000_s0un_f00/images/xslide42.gif" border="0" ismap="ismap" /></a></div></div><br /><br /><br />All in all we had such a great time with Rick and Brittany, thanks for coming out guys!Trav and Mel......http://www.blogger.com/profile/11340565057695760080noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4960344069110027347.post-54488611796080639472008-11-07T10:15:00.002-05:002008-11-07T10:27:03.901-05:00ConnecticutAs I mentioned Trav's parents were in town for a conference for Ben's work. It was a builders conference and Trav and I were able to take the train to Connecticut for the day to do a home tour with Ben and Deb. Unfortunately we didn't take very many pictures, but these houses were really amazing. There was a lot of neat woodwork throughout, kitchens the size of our apartment, sitting rooms off all the bedrooms, seperate closets for just shoes, huge garages with ridiculous cars, butler kitchens, two story librarys, etc. Let's just say they were amazing. I really bummed I don't have more pictures. But thanks Ben and Deb for letting us tag a long! Oh and Connecticut was beautiful I was amazed at how pretty all the streets were and all of the huge trees with the leaves changing it is like in the movies. <div><embed src="http://widget-4c.slide.com/widgets/slideticker.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" quality="high" scale="noscale" salign="l" wmode="transparent" flashvars="cy=bb&il=1&channel=2954361355571743820&site=widget-4c.slide.com" style="width:400px;height:320px" name="flashticker" align="middle"></embed><div style="width:400px;text-align:left;"><a href="http://www.slide.com/pivot?cy=bb&at=un&id=2954361355571743820&map=1" target="_blank"><img src="http://widget-4c.slide.com/p1/2954361355571743820/bb_t016_v000_s0un_f00/images/xslide1.gif" border="0" ismap="ismap" /></a> <a href="http://www.slide.com/pivot?cy=bb&at=un&id=2954361355571743820&map=2" target="_blank"><img src="http://widget-4c.slide.com/p2/2954361355571743820/bb_t016_v000_s0un_f00/images/xslide2.gif" border="0" ismap="ismap" /></a> <a href="http://www.slide.com/pivot?cy=bb&at=un&id=2954361355571743820&map=F" target="_blank"><img src="http://widget-4c.slide.com/p4/2954361355571743820/bb_t016_v000_s0un_f00/images/xslide42.gif" border="0" ismap="ismap" /></a></div></div>Trav and Mel......http://www.blogger.com/profile/11340565057695760080noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4960344069110027347.post-62518759796358903602008-11-07T09:35:00.003-05:002008-11-07T10:43:24.868-05:00Weclome to Miami! So we just got back from a week long vacation within a vacation......so well deserved right? No not really but we had a good time! Travis had a conference in Miami for school and since he had a few extra days off class we decided to make a vacation out of it. Of course Jeff and Katie came too, so while the boys went to boring conferences ;) the girls went to the beach. And when I say went to the beach I mean walked out the back door of the condo and went to the beach <span style="color: rgb(255, 153, 0);">EVERYDAY</span>! We were really lucky, we found a condo that was newly remodeled and literally right off the water. We booked it on homeaway.com this is my new favorite website to book condos for when we go out of town. You can get really great deals on things and so far with the places I have booked they have been awesome. Now for a plug for Trav's parents condo in Kauai they have it listed on <a href="http://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/p160545">homeaway</a> so check it out, we went with some friends last year and it was a lot of fun. Let me know if you are interested so I can get you the friends and family discount!!!<br /><br />Other than the beach in Miami we drove and walked around the city and South Beach, ate yummy food, went to a Halloween extravaganza, downtown in one of the main shopping plaza there were hundreds of people dressed up in costume, it was crazy. Katie and I saw HSM3, and yes I know I am 26, but it was fun! We also went to Michael's Crafts, we can't find any craft stores in the city so we had to take advantage of the chance we had to go get scrapbook paper for a little project we are working on. I am all rested up and now have a little color to my skin, it was a fun trip but is also fun to be back in the city to finish watching the leaves change.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">The beach out our back door!<br /></div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWNntujvx6BIf1Ut6p5h4pZxCStHY4SuSPiwRr9fPlLNYxsjK36RprBxuCZRoP8efKaP23O_z4C5Aamfqx2CN7UJ_MeT5kCtTe33_Ew5c5CCQeMQqLQRMi_PNl7Bd1uOJ3_XhAtMZkyM4/s1600-h/PICT0079.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWNntujvx6BIf1Ut6p5h4pZxCStHY4SuSPiwRr9fPlLNYxsjK36RprBxuCZRoP8efKaP23O_z4C5Aamfqx2CN7UJ_MeT5kCtTe33_Ew5c5CCQeMQqLQRMi_PNl7Bd1uOJ3_XhAtMZkyM4/s320/PICT0079.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5265939718253940866" border="0" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdV4njMuDI_y-38hiMp7VglKAPLfdsy_7g6GBnhXF6ntARFSASku3WVYYeaXiEbmjXrxq_tyYyF8XURD803wn_Ob3QpilBeuYFU3ocPiisMlSmxpdiR208828ESZi3ndmLi-dxw5YZDf4/s1600-h/PICT0109.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdV4njMuDI_y-38hiMp7VglKAPLfdsy_7g6GBnhXF6ntARFSASku3WVYYeaXiEbmjXrxq_tyYyF8XURD803wn_Ob3QpilBeuYFU3ocPiisMlSmxpdiR208828ESZi3ndmLi-dxw5YZDf4/s320/PICT0109.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5265939734110319938" border="0" /></a><br />South Beach in the evening. It was a lot of fun to have family out here. It was Ben and Deb's first time to NY so we were able to see a lot of fun things, in fact most things Trav and I hadn't done or seen yet.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge at sunset it was really beautiful and I was really surprised that there were so many people, it was pretty crowded.<br /></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjReVP3LNaq2fZwAeyJe1SBfHfhALpuhPShqRTkQrC3A1uzjsVsYQksElsPQVfE4f8Fs3ai-jWjkDsLKR_ZqgyeUCAYOAwycJhY-qmjmgq-lWTWfjoHrv5kSPIw6jbFBsFVAqbjBX-9F0w/s1600-h/PICT0010.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjReVP3LNaq2fZwAeyJe1SBfHfhALpuhPShqRTkQrC3A1uzjsVsYQksElsPQVfE4f8Fs3ai-jWjkDsLKR_ZqgyeUCAYOAwycJhY-qmjmgq-lWTWfjoHrv5kSPIw6jbFBsFVAqbjBX-9F0w/s320/PICT0010.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5265930291293141058" border="0" /></a><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaCgPBnuagfqNUKE5Qr2L8PPXf2YY9NXUNOogZiGzKKsvWb-W9xtbXtgdvavlsAt1zjYSj6JqFOdB4l0CcWz-mgnFkR2K0ST_zGwUBRWpvewpEaIBiN_w4LbG9jI3cwDDyn5bYejS0a3k/s1600-h/PICT0020.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaCgPBnuagfqNUKE5Qr2L8PPXf2YY9NXUNOogZiGzKKsvWb-W9xtbXtgdvavlsAt1zjYSj6JqFOdB4l0CcWz-mgnFkR2K0ST_zGwUBRWpvewpEaIBiN_w4LbG9jI3cwDDyn5bYejS0a3k/s320/PICT0020.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5265930309909058050" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgieezixw3DLAcsRiq7BjuPqrfYd-KfTUAtoJFAlVO83mU1sQlDsnxaZgVFANK2HaahODh0eYL0eKBO_c7s6nDgJRBdPPpFgV40zjb7WGj76TP-Ngmdu7rsbI28WioScDUXe7Yen5kgpFs/s1600-h/PICT0011.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgieezixw3DLAcsRiq7BjuPqrfYd-KfTUAtoJFAlVO83mU1sQlDsnxaZgVFANK2HaahODh0eYL0eKBO_c7s6nDgJRBdPPpFgV40zjb7WGj76TP-Ngmdu7rsbI28WioScDUXe7Yen5kgpFs/s320/PICT0011.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5265930295273239010" border="0" /></a>Ben, Deb and I went to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. It was really neat we did the audio tours and it tells you so much about the history. It was fun to go to Ellis Island, Deb had ancestors come through there at the turn of the century and we were able to find their name on the wall. Most of which I don't have pictures, of course! My all time favorite thing that I have done since we have been in NY is seeing SARAH MCLACHLAN.....I know this was seriously the best thing ever. I don't know how or why I was lucky enough to get tickets to this really small promo she was doing but I am sooo happy I did. This past Monday Trav and I went to the TimesTalk theater in Times Square the venue sat less than 400 people, we were on the third row and Sarah Mclachlan was promoting her new album, she was interviewed and then performed three songs. It was just her and her guitar and piano so surreal, I know I know I sound like a dork but for real it was the one performer that I absolutely love!!!! Oh and you really need to check out her two new songs I just keep replaying them, I love it.<br /><div style="text-align: center;">Yes that is where she sat and no we couldn't take pictures when she was on stage :(.<br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3wj3i2EkjjMJ9-Bge2VA1VIdzkog3w62a0zPxNbivt8q9D1KmHYRSEyMcngGTg3tDS_RGqf0IDAK7ahRWU6GGzQSBkB0tTZX-Ws7q1EVqq2Wgidy0K4aX5xBzobN_hhD0HMGl80blkJM/s1600-h/NY2008+%285%29.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3wj3i2EkjjMJ9-Bge2VA1VIdzkog3w62a0zPxNbivt8q9D1KmHYRSEyMcngGTg3tDS_RGqf0IDAK7ahRWU6GGzQSBkB0tTZX-Ws7q1EVqq2Wgidy0K4aX5xBzobN_hhD0HMGl80blkJM/s320/NY2008+%285%29.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5255917539990463602" border="0" /></a><br />What else have we done? Oh Katie's friends from SLC came out to visit, the were so nice to let me tag a long. It was a lot of fun to have them come out for a girls trip we got some fun shopping in and were able to see two broadway shows, Legally Blonde and Mary Poppins both of which were great!<br /><img src="file:///C:/DOCUME%7E1/MELANI%7E1/LOCALS%7E1/Temp/moz-screenshot.jpg" alt="" /><img src="file:///C:/DOCUME%7E1/MELANI%7E1/LOCALS%7E1/Temp/moz-screenshot-1.jpg" alt="" /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikNZpIF6TFl0O7MroAy71NO820X2I2JT7QdRpcfEIoLym2XCcOvPgIYsRaRoqUdznbhHAcQnbsWZWH5YHD_XaeWVTHGmVsx-vanYzTbmd0-iBpGMc2spHZ7fugE8Xu3bRwtJkPEH-myS0/s1600-h/girls.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikNZpIF6TFl0O7MroAy71NO820X2I2JT7QdRpcfEIoLym2XCcOvPgIYsRaRoqUdznbhHAcQnbsWZWH5YHD_XaeWVTHGmVsx-vanYzTbmd0-iBpGMc2spHZ7fugE8Xu3bRwtJkPEH-myS0/s320/girls.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5256096577630207634" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Oh and I WON!!! Yes that is right the girl who never wins won tickets to David Letterman. I got online about a month ago and requested tickets to the show not thinking that I would get them, I heard they were really hard to get. Anyway someone from the show called me and left a message so I initially thought ah man I missed my chance then I called back and left a message and then they called me back again. They actually called while Katie and I were down in Central Park watching David Blaine hang upside down, which by the way was not that cool. Anyway they gave me a trivia question to answer it was "Rupert G is on The David Letterman Show, what does he do?". I don't know how I answered correctly but I did he is the deli guy. I was super excited, we went last Wednesday we saw Kate Walsh, the director of Pushing Daisies and Darius Rukker. It was fun to see how the show all came together.<br /><div style="text-align: center;">Trav wouldn't take his picture with me the little nerd so it is just yours truly<br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoYlA6GbOjnigrJ9FrLjhN6_mbu0J1DhMp-FQ5-NuwFccZJyeUb_v-YU6nMQoebvRIzw_6aRH6mRdtF49GsCRJZB3hJZuR7D2g0W3MrV3UkYtAtCrQ4Lin-YDG4158cy7GF0VQVLa8w-U/s1600-h/NY2008.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoYlA6GbOjnigrJ9FrLjhN6_mbu0J1DhMp-FQ5-NuwFccZJyeUb_v-YU6nMQoebvRIzw_6aRH6mRdtF49GsCRJZB3hJZuR7D2g0W3MrV3UkYtAtCrQ4Lin-YDG4158cy7GF0VQVLa8w-U/s320/NY2008.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5255917524918137842" border="0" /></a><br />Regis and Kelly! Yesterday Katie and I decided to go down to the Regis and Kelly show and stand in the standby line. We got there at 6:45 and there was already a line :(. After three and half hours of waiting we were finally let into the second taping. It was really neat to be on their set, it was a lot smaller than I imagined. We saw Jason O'hara from Life on Mars and then we saw a chef.....it was cool, I would totally do it again.<br /><div style="text-align: center;">Yeah we look good we woke up so early!!!<br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijiNZhrNi4x5pSV41GfZTWwInx8xbdFe9A1iXRcip9qju1CbnX-tl8DpzKwEIl9D3gBVynAU-68hAMIQrP0yftESUj3npg6on1rXcSbZNZKZMxYd4j7LFW_EIr2oV8NsMjrGqZDSLHF0Q/s1600-h/DSCN1764.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijiNZhrNi4x5pSV41GfZTWwInx8xbdFe9A1iXRcip9qju1CbnX-tl8DpzKwEIl9D3gBVynAU-68hAMIQrP0yftESUj3npg6on1rXcSbZNZKZMxYd4j7LFW_EIr2oV8NsMjrGqZDSLHF0Q/s320/DSCN1764.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5255917552489525346" border="0" /></a><br />We went to Connecticut last weekend with Katie, Jeff and MaryLyn for Jeff's birthday weekend. It was a lot of fun, we stayed in Milford which is really close to New Haven. We went to visit the Yale campus. It was really amazing it is seriously so old I couldn't believe it the buildings and architecture are beautiful and similar to places in Europe. So we spent some time on the campus and then we went down by the beach, which was also very beautiful. There were some really neat beach houses that lined the beach. It was fun to get away from the fast paced city for a weekend. Thanks for making it great guys!<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHNgBUbWoOXej6ZCTljRPAV5f0NeEQsKxryCJOta9UqZa-f8KdHpLPKSvCNsX5kyaZwLMNxaBDc1PNWmAy1yL7r1NiAF7w7eFIJCqVduW81-TUgZSuYDIDPAao05UQNuJH82o6dw1CfKY/s1600-h/DSCN1750.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHNgBUbWoOXej6ZCTljRPAV5f0NeEQsKxryCJOta9UqZa-f8KdHpLPKSvCNsX5kyaZwLMNxaBDc1PNWmAy1yL7r1NiAF7w7eFIJCqVduW81-TUgZSuYDIDPAao05UQNuJH82o6dw1CfKY/s320/DSCN1750.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5255919635720940530" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfuXNIWA-ivR309-pto95BQvsphqftc3qkha3LKauCi7zGOTsB5CZPd_ogTWLx2yTPsHDJ4N3VZHpLndUxe81lQFDhtfVSUfJdv15qBREAfxhI836W0xnPpubf2uBu7qf5NDB7lYcgKFU/s1600-h/DSCN1738.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfuXNIWA-ivR309-pto95BQvsphqftc3qkha3LKauCi7zGOTsB5CZPd_ogTWLx2yTPsHDJ4N3VZHpLndUxe81lQFDhtfVSUfJdv15qBREAfxhI836W0xnPpubf2uBu7qf5NDB7lYcgKFU/s320/DSCN1738.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5255919643882376194" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH3HqJumFiA2anfgpabLOkNaQwPCjwCNVHlSfmiGPQ4o1Jn9fWpik3Pcw9nA9VnVVMDwGoRW076hdkUtX_2QpiJtc6T4KfrGMR5gVanprQTXb0Fp8bMbyxA8xoSimAeb9nMG0kVVtosT8/s1600-h/DSCN1588.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH3HqJumFiA2anfgpabLOkNaQwPCjwCNVHlSfmiGPQ4o1Jn9fWpik3Pcw9nA9VnVVMDwGoRW076hdkUtX_2QpiJtc6T4KfrGMR5gVanprQTXb0Fp8bMbyxA8xoSimAeb9nMG0kVVtosT8/s320/DSCN1588.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5255919663675930466" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiM_0_nCfADxb9huRhVGzl20RHwB8q7nQ9zlS8y3Lw1ZGqmFv8e3tFOgfwoh-LOZIQQ3Hp24sBXvXMJRzXK7XOfh8oREW6VK9_TXiy9SSVD2uA0FobDh5myd13TU3dL8W8KJja_LunIdiY/s1600-h/DSCN1602.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiM_0_nCfADxb9huRhVGzl20RHwB8q7nQ9zlS8y3Lw1ZGqmFv8e3tFOgfwoh-LOZIQQ3Hp24sBXvXMJRzXK7XOfh8oREW6VK9_TXiy9SSVD2uA0FobDh5myd13TU3dL8W8KJja_LunIdiY/s320/DSCN1602.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5255919678829766866" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXtZvq_BqEDBCs6QMqDwta9Gp_O42cOSBKRplfmnZj9-dlO1ru6rcFQ-b4leBiQxQ5TRku4RaAbXuAox9eSbfUPkiXKxwAXFZcSdzK289fWcdK18rCm4URUUS_7OZ4jtHxKTtEnfI4Mbg/s1600-h/DSCN1731.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXtZvq_BqEDBCs6QMqDwta9Gp_O42cOSBKRplfmnZj9-dlO1ru6rcFQ-b4leBiQxQ5TRku4RaAbXuAox9eSbfUPkiXKxwAXFZcSdzK289fWcdK18rCm4URUUS_7OZ4jtHxKTtEnfI4Mbg/s320/DSCN1731.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5255920583865986738" border="0" /></a><br />I have so many pictures I think my next post will be just slide shows!Trav and Mel......http://www.blogger.com/profile/11340565057695760080noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4960344069110027347.post-3524713505533896232008-09-21T22:15:00.006-04:002008-09-21T22:57:52.918-04:00Pictures!!!Well it feels like it has been awhile since I posted last, so this is the third post for today just to make up for it :). So far so good out here in NY. I really can't complain, Trav is loving school and now that we have adjusted to the city things are getting easier. We really are having a great time and seeing and experiencing some great things. Sometimes I forget what we have been up to until I look back through our pictures so I will post a few.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">So we went down to Wall St. a few weekends ago and that was cool. Ground Zero is down there too, but it isn't very neat anymore, they took down all of the memorabilia and you can't even really see where the towers were.<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-0ms5Dv3F2hzldr3IUwnQPEPZJWYmI5w1xlaDadTOPCszV78P5qypj4TTG8cJnX95dBtupdLZNVTRWRmpjF2AF9dX8DTb8zqCetFmZpvaTRRcj9TIfmT1CuTDrTtZJ8SKlveryOkarxU/s1600-h/PICT0197.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-0ms5Dv3F2hzldr3IUwnQPEPZJWYmI5w1xlaDadTOPCszV78P5qypj4TTG8cJnX95dBtupdLZNVTRWRmpjF2AF9dX8DTb8zqCetFmZpvaTRRcj9TIfmT1CuTDrTtZJ8SKlveryOkarxU/s320/PICT0197.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248665348713498338" border="0" /></a><br />The Trinity Church<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIXWbLHPHQnHulanw5RfYwiY2kQU8YQW0kryHLgDWoE16IMrmjJLnuZqbS2ArV6GpYENdsmXWkYYorF_7rm7GEPk8QpOI_pVbfWiuoxoT8PLutD_XuKSOwO4lqLAwSgSLn6W7QWaGpMtQ/s1600-h/PICT0202.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIXWbLHPHQnHulanw5RfYwiY2kQU8YQW0kryHLgDWoE16IMrmjJLnuZqbS2ArV6GpYENdsmXWkYYorF_7rm7GEPk8QpOI_pVbfWiuoxoT8PLutD_XuKSOwO4lqLAwSgSLn6W7QWaGpMtQ/s320/PICT0202.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248665355775688370" border="0" /></a><br />Trav and I went to the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). This weekend we went down to Canal Street again, gotta love cheap shopping, and it just so happened that right around the corner was the festival that was going on in Little Italy. So much fun, really delicious food and a bunch of people and a parade with priests, what more could you ask for?<br /><br />And then on Saturday we rented bikes and rode through Central Park. You seriously could spend days in the park, so much to see and the people watching is the best!<br /><br />New York truly is the city that never sleeps. There are so many wonderful things to do here it is just a matter of getting out to do it. We are trying to take advantage of good weather before it is gone so we are outside walking or at parks all the time. We haven't seen anyone famous yet, but we are hoping to go down to Central Park tomorrow to see David Blaine hang upside down, supposedly for three days!!!!!<br /><br />Oh one last picture........<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGPgwyxreVK2bBaTHyUVteO1J5hLEpNveppfBGHL3Ujc9YpH1cgTHOA4duk9q5XAS9-iBhqw-RNauwKxWgQdbqF6h_2PYk06WTOO9zw351S_Ev0MFWhVfppzUTmjjocYbydKlHrpUNhEA/s1600-h/PICT0337.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGPgwyxreVK2bBaTHyUVteO1J5hLEpNveppfBGHL3Ujc9YpH1cgTHOA4duk9q5XAS9-iBhqw-RNauwKxWgQdbqF6h_2PYk06WTOO9zw351S_Ev0MFWhVfppzUTmjjocYbydKlHrpUNhEA/s320/PICT0337.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248674098470641794" border="0" /></a><br />What a way to end a post right?Trav and Mel......http://www.blogger.com/profile/11340565057695760080noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4960344069110027347.post-39503826467543280392008-09-21T22:06:00.002-04:002008-09-21T22:15:43.747-04:00ApartmentOk so as promised I am posting pictures of our luxurious 519 sq foot apartment. We offically moved into our very own 519 sq foot apt on Wednesday, I have never been so grateful for such a small living space. But the best part is we are in the same building and the same floor as our good friends out here, Katie and Jeff. We are still setting up the apartment so pictures of the inside will follow, but Trav took some great shots of the view from our front room. We always said our next place would have a view :).<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3MAKY6Wpq6c9GvLSP35X0aFTwHlwEtjFLNTNedem8c45eifeNeg_jbd0P-wvp7QmH_Fr0dC8KzU0x4xCfSHyBO1qZ7_ERavbURSWS0RQPeWjH_A_UQ5wTLNDFYfel4nepdVonBXXWCqQ/s1600-h/PICT0133.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3MAKY6Wpq6c9GvLSP35X0aFTwHlwEtjFLNTNedem8c45eifeNeg_jbd0P-wvp7QmH_Fr0dC8KzU0x4xCfSHyBO1qZ7_ERavbURSWS0RQPeWjH_A_UQ5wTLNDFYfel4nepdVonBXXWCqQ/s320/PICT0133.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5243119715219361074" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjanAQh3FwTj0bTp_6Gcyo_trBRSK3xRJnGq5CRvhCw9I5iqG6JXoYXRYHW0jO2dgdW4n2ujpjCfrTIPe9WulL-EUZEaL8skEl2jAacLXg4qTyqOrbzsOYUE8yKFYfsNdMUTDJjG6vmBrk/s1600-h/PICT0139.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjanAQh3FwTj0bTp_6Gcyo_trBRSK3xRJnGq5CRvhCw9I5iqG6JXoYXRYHW0jO2dgdW4n2ujpjCfrTIPe9WulL-EUZEaL8skEl2jAacLXg4qTyqOrbzsOYUE8yKFYfsNdMUTDJjG6vmBrk/s320/PICT0139.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5243120946120628834" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXAi1spS3EGyY-X90ITptYpg1OJuB2dAPkpa8aOHfDmHReD13z-N8-PpM8EM8IsC9gUKhPosqcONISMbyp1lWFIWzfWW9N_56pfRUsTX7QJFA_CcKeEwqNO4PLEP4ADOHYb7r6RRQspk4/s1600-h/PICT0141.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXAi1spS3EGyY-X90ITptYpg1OJuB2dAPkpa8aOHfDmHReD13z-N8-PpM8EM8IsC9gUKhPosqcONISMbyp1lWFIWzfWW9N_56pfRUsTX7QJFA_CcKeEwqNO4PLEP4ADOHYb7r6RRQspk4/s320/PICT0141.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5243121127797812962" border="0" /></a><br />Trav was pretty busy with school this week and I was just trying to set things up for work so we didn't do a whole lot of touristy fun stuff this week. We found out we got our apt. on Tuesday so immediately following we went to where else? Ikea. It was a about 6 hour ordeal....it is an hour commute each way and then a for some reason it just took forever, we were completely exhausted. So Wednesday our things were delivered we were so excited to finally have a place of our own we put everything together that night. Thursday night Trav and I just went exploring the city down toward Columbus Circle and down to Times Square.....of course we stopped at the Hershey Store, below is a picture of Trav (I think he is the first person to ever take a picture like this, ha ha ha just kidding).<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1D82xi2yrPal05ZoLDAn5n5H3Lj2D_wnZtU-v96s-o6-VMOgr_fLCM_8aRN1SYvWtXE5KIWHp5zlqRnWOL5uMxAjULUctafZSa33gegOFz66V3AS8a2qdHEaAaBlG8JnQqko07Xsp8lc/s1600-h/PICT0149.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1D82xi2yrPal05ZoLDAn5n5H3Lj2D_wnZtU-v96s-o6-VMOgr_fLCM_8aRN1SYvWtXE5KIWHp5zlqRnWOL5uMxAjULUctafZSa33gegOFz66V3AS8a2qdHEaAaBlG8JnQqko07Xsp8lc/s320/PICT0149.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5243122194713869186" border="0" /></a>Walking through the city!<br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhB__0B0NJoGlmhCkREsR8ywwQfyAyAyntYUayJvmxixdNZ_khFjB8cE3NTGaI22LZIJabzSEoOfgNZLgrXaq9y4iV3NKW3yjrEwVuliLs8zZmWegjgiAdr2kwEBa_gNdEqFoIwtfHsdpQ/s1600-h/PICT0147.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhB__0B0NJoGlmhCkREsR8ywwQfyAyAyntYUayJvmxixdNZ_khFjB8cE3NTGaI22LZIJabzSEoOfgNZLgrXaq9y4iV3NKW3yjrEwVuliLs8zZmWegjgiAdr2kwEBa_gNdEqFoIwtfHsdpQ/s320/PICT0147.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5243122198491324210" border="0" /></a>Friday we had the chance to go to the US OPEN. Trav and I have never been before. In fact I have never in my life seen a tennis match or even picked up a tennis racket. But it was a lot of fun we were able to sit fairly close to the court. Katie's parents were in town so were went with them too! I didn't get any pictures of the whole group, but here is one of me, Jeff and Katie.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijQL9IlZjbOfy7V67b0Oru4o0VKSC7oVBcE0yAs3eKmfA1G-K5W3FmOeIxrq_Od0EPzif0EM9nsFtY8b54ile4_fwcsvrRe8PA1XtiaTPjW2N3Fv1cZqZDXbpuGG3-3X7_TpfjNpK6rqQ/s1600-h/PICT0153.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijQL9IlZjbOfy7V67b0Oru4o0VKSC7oVBcE0yAs3eKmfA1G-K5W3FmOeIxrq_Od0EPzif0EM9nsFtY8b54ile4_fwcsvrRe8PA1XtiaTPjW2N3Fv1cZqZDXbpuGG3-3X7_TpfjNpK6rqQ/s320/PICT0153.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5243121517416875170" border="0" /></a>The Women's Semi Finals, the first match we watched.<br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm6_ynH2qAOhfkpce_fjnCVczMejfQlHWfza1lHeJE3PKbo4dJxjdu_1-ZYTga3WKoq5kNW_Due8OBfvHyyRWqQUWh6BFYOIl9Pbm4d95wCmWPzQtStx1HTfq70i86iOSNRQUf_9dbAk0/s1600-h/PICT0157.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm6_ynH2qAOhfkpce_fjnCVczMejfQlHWfza1lHeJE3PKbo4dJxjdu_1-ZYTga3WKoq5kNW_Due8OBfvHyyRWqQUWh6BFYOIl9Pbm4d95wCmWPzQtStx1HTfq70i86iOSNRQUf_9dbAk0/s320/PICT0157.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5243121524948006146" border="0" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;">Me and Trav, it was super windy that day.<br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSKCmI6Cw5AM5GvIXlz11qWxV1GQ4atcJHuphBjslRnEpvFDNh4psEyB8oxCCUWv1V1FKiTIGW0e2Etiv47HKBd2ADFfa0GmroGyckuZx-AIdkQBNVY-Un11FYWwacc-6ElUse-7JRPh8/s1600-h/PICT0162.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSKCmI6Cw5AM5GvIXlz11qWxV1GQ4atcJHuphBjslRnEpvFDNh4psEyB8oxCCUWv1V1FKiTIGW0e2Etiv47HKBd2ADFfa0GmroGyckuZx-AIdkQBNVY-Un11FYWwacc-6ElUse-7JRPh8/s320/PICT0162.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5243121543392668834" border="0" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;">The second match we saw was with Serena Williams, she won!<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibBw_51IyUzgi6egA_y1GeMVhcsZ-Jzlqf8Xdv96XDiKkeiImZWtDcCi2GFdyx19jHY5aLi45kba2MKSpVE4UZtTrZsNPDV9PcnxQApCVdM9rmK9qyWU75FuRYy8r1jmzKmpswTc0NjIA/s1600-h/PICT0168.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibBw_51IyUzgi6egA_y1GeMVhcsZ-Jzlqf8Xdv96XDiKkeiImZWtDcCi2GFdyx19jHY5aLi45kba2MKSpVE4UZtTrZsNPDV9PcnxQApCVdM9rmK9qyWU75FuRYy8r1jmzKmpswTc0NjIA/s320/PICT0168.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5243125974310105586" border="0" /></a></div>After the US Open we went to Serendipity, this was my first time there. Where do I start? Trav and I have just moved to NYC for Trav to attend Grad School at Columbia University. He is in the Masters in Real Estate Development program and he is really excited to gain more knowledge on a topic he is passionate about. This opportunity and decision came upon us pretty quickly. Trav had always contemplated going back to school but just hadn't found a program he felt right about at least until December 31st when a good friend Jeff Wood told Trav that he was applying to this program. Long story short we talked about it and decided to give it a shot. We thought it was quite a long shot and just continued our lives as normal. Then came April 1st the day Trav was notified he was accepted. We were excited, scared, happy and sad. Everything in our lives changed not better, not worse, just a completely different direction. Trav had to quit his job working with his dad for Inklyne which he had been doing for basically forever. That was definitely a huge and difficult decision for him. I had been working with Mortgage Solutions for 4 1/2 years and loved it I had to change companies to one that I would be able to work virtually with. That was also very hard for me.<br />Other than that we had to leave our family and friends that we miss so much already and our house in Salt Lake that we just finished remodeling after two years of grueling work. The months preceding our move have been some of the hardest we have been through but now that we are here we are truly excited about the growth and experience we will have here! And we are soooo happy that we have the Wood's (Jeff and Katie) to share this adventure with.<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsifNKoRrdV6hDAhDdt-nS53iiBiJY9aBrPnh1xR9uKz5dy7FQ9lKTv-N3JpzaZ4Bmw_h5ijevWJK1CxvyyKGqLpJ0MJQut85j6AM8_trL6b0UmFnVcCAtxr249wkOAF555hWs5FXUh6Y/s1600-h/DSCN1177.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsifNKoRrdV6hDAhDdt-nS53iiBiJY9aBrPnh1xR9uKz5dy7FQ9lKTv-N3JpzaZ4Bmw_h5ijevWJK1CxvyyKGqLpJ0MJQut85j6AM8_trL6b0UmFnVcCAtxr249wkOAF555hWs5FXUh6Y/s320/DSCN1177.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5241274707867418530" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:85%;">Katie and Jeff are so nice to let us stay with them until we get our apartment......keep your fingers crossed that it will happen TOMORROW!!!!</span><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5Hd1cii0jXa9oatvN99dMNTFq_KOGu0N3FWPqCydIXvjRPAUlaZD04-zajIY8vJ9vhyphenhyphentZmmbIIfoHVujHYuXZuyeNLsa0nh1IJ4yotnj3iv8xKNcp6TPEsuWAwdt7ktMSr8Zk13eTbPk/s1600-h/DSCN1215.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5Hd1cii0jXa9oatvN99dMNTFq_KOGu0N3FWPqCydIXvjRPAUlaZD04-zajIY8vJ9vhyphenhyphentZmmbIIfoHVujHYuXZuyeNLsa0nh1IJ4yotnj3iv8xKNcp6TPEsuWAwdt7ktMSr8Zk13eTbPk/s320/DSCN1215.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5241275041919322546" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:85%;">The boys first day of school....they were so nervous :) ha ha just kidding.
